They met each other more than 25 years ago in Jani’s hometown of Salem, Oregon. Robert was a stage director, in town to stage a musical revue for a hospital fundraiser. Jani was a hospital employee and one of the dancers in his show. She definitely attracted his attention on opening night when she high-kicked her way onto the stage four beats ahead of the other dancers. She had such a big smile on her face the audience never suspected she was early… they thought the other dancers were late! As the owners of their own Metro Brokers real estate company, Robert & Jani are still working together and still smiling.
An optimist with a gentle manner, Robert is a problem solver. His earlier career as a stage director taught him to remain calm and focused under pressure, to meet every deadline, and to stay on top of details while never losing sight of the big picture. Robert loves the challenge of juggling dozens of elements and then smoothly bringing them all together, as he did then for opening nights and does now for real estate closings.

The daughter of a REALTOR®, Jani has a strong foundation upon which she has built her successful career in real estate. She learned all about values, hard work and commitment from her father, who owned and operated a real estate company in Salem, Oregon for more than 30 years. Jani also follows in his footsteps by constantly looking for opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of others and give back to the community.
Friendly and outgoing, Jani is known for her compassionate nature and for always being there for family, friends and clients. Before joining Robert in real estate, Jani worked as a nurse for over 15 years, where her concern for others found a natural outlet. During those years she developed the impressive interpersonal skills which now benefit her buyers and sellers. Jani has further developed these skills with extensive training in mediation and facilitation.
Real estate is about people, not property. Jani provides great service with a personal touch and firmly believes that her clients benefit from time spent face-to-face. “Technology provides many tools that allow us to serve our clients effectively online, but in my mind, technology will never replace the handshake.”
